UK Solo Sailing (COMPLETED)

paul_3680 I was one of only a handful of people to sail single handed around the UK coastline in 2011. It was a journey of discovery with some hair raising moments !  The boat was struck by lightning in an electric storm off the south coast. I lost Finlay the parrot on the North East coast and after an appearance on local tv news,  was eventually re-united with my beloved sailing companion. I set out to raise awareness about Crohns & Colitis and to raise money for the Crohns & Colitis UK charity.

I made a video log of the 3 month journey which you can view on youtube at the link  below.

I’ve also written a book about the experience which is available as an e-book on i-tunes.

The trip inspired me to undertake new challenges and I learned to how pilot a Sea Kayak for my upcoming attempt at a cross channel journey, planned for June 2016.  The weather has been a constant factor in the cross channel attempt with rough seas and sea fog thwarting a few attempts at the crossing. In the Meantime, I’ve completed another Kayak challenge – The Leeds-Liverpool Canal in the summer of 2015.  Again raising money for Crohns & Colitis UK.
